Interpretation
These permanent street furniture units in the Port of Montreal's colours serve as urban signage and a historical interpretive trail on the new promenade developed by the Port of Montreal.
Designed as a sign family, the various modules retrace the industrial history of Montreal's oldest pier, the Bickerdike Promenade. The creation of small public plazas was intended to revitalize and enhance the banks of lands belonging to the Port. They also allow pedestrians and cyclists to enjoy a dialogue between past and present, making the site a tourist attraction and an emblematic space for Montreal, with views of the city on one side and Habitat 67 on the other.
